I am using v11.55
I have found a duplicate contributor...same person, but different spellings of the last name , and 2 different envelope numbers.
I have tried to merge the incorrectly spelled profile into the correct one.
I keep getting this window popping up:

Then, Powerchurch shuts down completely, and i have to reopen it.
I follow the manual , but i must be doing something wrong.
Can you help?

ps..will the contributions from the merged profile follow into the new saved (and correctly spelled ) profile?

Try this first:
Do a REINDEX of the database from the Utilities menu. This solves a lot of things.

Then try 'merging' this way as you have to merge contributions also, and I'm not sure the 'profile merge' process handles that easily.
Go to the 'incorrect' mailing list profile, and go to the 'Family Members' tab. Select the personal profile you want to merge, then click on the Move Profile button, then choose the Mailing List profile you want to move it to. You'll probably get a pop up asking if you want to delete the incorrect mailing list profile since it won't have any family members. Click OK.

Once the personal profile is moved, make a note of the two envelope numbers.. Go into Contributions, and find the REASSIGN selection, and choose the Reassign an envelope number function. Enter the envelope numbers you noted earlier, the first number will be the one you want to merge into the second. Then click "Save and Close".

Then head back to the Mailing List profile and delete the incorrect personal profile.
