We're having a problem sending group email from our client PCs. Clients are XP Pro, Server is W2K3. Running PC+ 9.

When we try to send from a client, we get an error message "server cannot be found."

When I try to test the system email settings from any of the clients, I get the error message:
"PROGRAM: SENDMAIL.CONNECT
LINE: 8
ERROR: 1733
Message: Class Definition CSMAIL.SETTINGS is not found."

Then PowerChurch crashes.

When I send email from server using all the same system settings, everything works fine.

Second Question: If I test the system email settings from the server I get the message: "Socket Logging is Enabled. Performance will suffer."

Any suggestions on this one?

For your first issue, make sure you have a drive mapped to the PowerChurch installation on the server. Don't use the UNC name (ie. \\server\pcplus9\). Then run the netsetup9.exe file located in the PCPLUS9 directory through that mapped drive on the client. That should reinstall the files used to send emails, and should fix this problem.

As far as the "performance will suffer" message, you only see that during the testing, and it basically means that since there are special diagnostic things going on in the background, performance would be slower than usual for the duration of the test. Obviously, that's just a matter of seconds, so it's no big deal. The message's bark is worse than its bite.
