Blank Lines in 2-Column Church Directory Report

Post by dfj4541 »

I'm a new user entering membership data in PowerChurch 10. Many of our couples share an e-mail address such as greenfamily@... So I've entered these shared addresses in both the husband's and wife's personal profiles. That way either one can receive group e-mail messages. Then I marked one of the records as "Unlisted" so it won't print twice in the directory.

However, sometimes the 2-column church directory report leaves a blank line where the unlisted e-mail would have printed. I believe this is a layout error caused by overlapping fields in the standard report. The blank line occurs only under the following conditions:

1. Wife's (record 2) e-mail is unlisted.
2. Wife (record 2) has a printable phone number in her personal profile.

The blank line is not present if the husband's (record 1's) e-mail is the one that is unlisted. And it doesn't occur if the wife does not have a separate phone number listed on the directory report.

Of course, one workaround is to mark the husband's (record 1's) e-mail as unlisted. But the same problem occurs for any unlisted record 2 e-mail. Could this issue could be fixed between releases and a revised standard report be made available for download? So far, I'm very pleased with PowerChurch. It will be a great help to our ministry.

What I did on shared email addresses is to only list one. Of course, that doesn't help if you need to send something from a committee or class, and she's enrolled, and he's not.
