Updating and reworking Membership data

I would like to know what users think is the best way to set up the integrated membership. We would like to see husbands and wifes name in the lookup list so I think we should set up the household key as "Lastname" "John and Mary" then should the mailing name be Mr. and Mrs. John Lastname or should that be the salutation and the mailing name should be John and Mary Lastname? What are your suggestions.

I hadn't thought of having both names in the household key - what a great idea! We use "Mr. & Mrs. John Lastname" for the mailing name, and "John & Jane" for the salutation. If a person prefers to use a nickname, we use that in the salutation rather than their full first name (Jack & Jane, for example).
In personal profiles, which you didn't ask about, we sometimes have to put a middle initial in with a first name because of folks with the same first and last names. Also, sometimes we have to put Sr. or Jr. with the last name, rather than in the suffix box. This makes using "Add Person" in "Fast Data Entry" a lot easier, especially when they're at the same address.
