Socket Permission error in group email attempt

I am trying to send an email to a group (through the Personal Profiles menu) and receive the following error message when I execute the command to send the email:
"A connection to the email server could not be made."
"An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions."
This started happening after installing the 12/05 Maintenance Release and I cannot figure out how to correct the message. Any ideas?
