Whenever we run the pictorial directory our pictures look atrocious; i have resized multiple times and tried high res as well as low res and no matter what these pictures are going to get me hung if i publish them!
I have read previous posts about pic quality but all refered to previous versions (we have ver. 9) and though i saw some of the repsonses state that this program was not meant to replace professional directories i cant see the use of what were seeing on our directory as anything anybody would print??
please let me know whether or not PCPlus is the problem or possibly some set up or option field i have missed.
i spent the last 2 months taking all the pictures from our congregation and have spouted how its so simple to just print our own directory from PC Plus and all of the pictures look great in ANY other picture viewer or photo programs!
All help would be greatly appreciated!

Craig,
the answers you've seen about ver 9 hold true for ver 10. The Powerchurch pictorial directory was meant to be used as an easy way to attach a name to a face. Church offices could import the pictures taken from a firm such as Olan Mills, and then add pictures from new members, or people who did not get their pics taken by the profiessional company.
Then an updated pictorial directory could be printed for use by the office and various ministries, and perhaps offered to the congregation as a update between the creation of the professional directories.
FWIW ... i don't think you're going to get the same quality from Powerchurch as you would from a professional directory firm, they have access to better print facilities, high powered graphics programs, etc.

We used the PC photo directory last year for our sole directory. We had it printed at a local copy shop from a .pdf in black and white and on standard-quality paper. It was very serviceable and, for our congregation, a much easier process than having to deal with the professional directory folks. Many of our members don't care to have professional portraits taken, see the 'pitch' of the sales people as intrusive and are willing to put up with a lower quality photo directory as a result.
Our one complaint was not having the email addresses for the family members listed. Our solution was to chose the minimal info for the photo pages and duplicate those listings in a non-photo directory printout, which followed.
I would love to see the ability to have each family member's email address printed as well as even a slightly higher res photo, so that congregations like ours could easily use PC for our directories!
This year we are pricing having only the photo pages printed locally in color on a better paper, will add the non-photo pages and have volunteers come in and cone-bind them!
