Transferring Data
Is there anyway to transfer a select mailing list from one category to another, such as moving the families under Deac Somebody to Deacon Nobody?

The only way to do this is through changing or deleting the code all together. As an example, if go to Membership > Family Mailing List > Maintain Custom Codes and choose to Delete the "Member" option under the Mailing Category code, the system will ask what code you want to move everyone to that has that code currently assigned. In theory, if you wanted to move everyone from one code to another, you could do it this way, then adding the deleted code back in later if you need to.
It's kind of a hack, but I don't know of any other way to do it.

Yes, I'm aware of that method, but I want to move from one category to another. For example I want to move all the families that are under Deacon Somebody in the Deacon category, to Minister Nobody under the Minister category. Any other advice?
Thanks
Thanks

Zorak, as one of the Powerchurch developers, basically gave you the definitive answer.antwaun wrote:Yes, I'm aware of that method, but I want to move from one category to another. That said, can you be more specific on what you mean by category ?? In most usage, the Mailing LIst Category is used to describe what the family is: Visitor, Member, Friend of Church, etc.
However ,as was said, there is no 'mass conversion' process available to change a group of families from one mailing list category to another.
