We have a few couples who are married but have different last names, or the wife has a hyphenated last name.
I'd like mailing labels to print out this way:
Dan McMillan
Nancy Smith-McMillan
393 S. 2nd Street
Williamsburg, IA 52361
I tried puttingDan's name on the first line and Nancy's name on the first line of what would normally contain the first line of the street address, but then if I go later to print out a church directory their entry looks like this:
Dan McMillan and Nancy Smith-McMillan
Nancy Smith McMillan 393 S. 2nd Street Williamsburg, IA 52361
There must be a better way. : )

Re: Married Couples with Different Names
You won't be able to get the labels in the way you want. If you put the names on the name block of the family mailing list form like this:ranchmom wrote:We have a few couples who are married but have different last names, or the wife has a hyphenated last name.

Dan Smith and Sara Jones-Smith
The label will print as:
Dan Smith and Sara Jones-Smith
111 First St
First, State 99999
There is no standard way to do exactly what you want.
You could try to create a custom report to do this, but that could add more problems than its worth.

This, I believe, can be fixed. The basic label is setup for (if I remember right) Times Roman, 10 or 12 pitch.ranchmom wrote:Okay, thanks, what happens when I try to put both names on the first line is that the label prints out like this:
Dan McMillan and Nancy Smith-McMi
or something similar to that.
Thanks for the reply.

You can edit the label to change that to Ariel, and a 12 or 14 pitch, which can fix space problems, which sounds like you're having.
