What is the recommended way to establish a household and move a profile for a child member who has moved out of mom and dad's house and is now on their own?

I would suggest this by sending this request to wishlist@powerchurch.com.parkwayucc wrote:It would be great if that could be less steps. Such as an option to select from the profile of the child. Such as when you select "move" besides the list of existing families, you could select a tab that said "make new profile."
Good to know ... I haven't tried all the functions so I didn't pick this one up !!Zorak wrote:Version 11.5 added the option to create a new household and move the person in one step.
All prior versions, it's two separate processes.
You could but then you'd have to figure how to keep the name from showing up in reports twice, but what we usually do is enter this data into one of the note fields we set up for that purpose.ricklw wrote:I just did this and it worked great, however, is there a way to keep the name in the original family as they are still Mom and Dad's child?
It's actually 3. You first have to create a family, it requires you to enter a personal. Then you have to move the person you want to move to the new family. If that person you are moving is the new head of house hold, they are now in there twice so you have to delete the new one and hopefully you can tell which one is new. Wow. convoluted.
Since this is a 8 year old topic ... and no longer pertains to the current versions of Powerchurch, its only one step. If you're still using earlier versions the steps listed at the top of the topic still work. The only time you need to add a personal profile when creating a family/mailing list profile is when you're doing it from the 'add new family' on the Intergrated Data Entry', if you create the family record from the Mailing List Profiles functions, a personal profile is not required.mrm1 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2020 11:23 amIt's actually 3.
