We are using v.11, newest update on Windows XP Pro.
I want to print mailing labels to apply to our new budget envelope boxes. Last year (v.10) I had the custom labels set up to print 2-up and the name line bold and a larger font.
In File/preferences/mailing labels, no matter what I do I get a 3-up labels and the font is different than how I set it up before. If I change the colums to 2 I still get 3-up labels.
Anyone else have this with v.11?

Re: Custom mailing labels problem
It sounds like the label format you are customizing is not the one you are printing labels with.
You shouldn't have to customize the number of columns in the layout. If you want a custom 2 column layout, choose the 20 label sheet to base your custom label on.

Re: Custom mailing labels problem
Zorak, I'd like to be able to use the 20 or 30 label setting (2 or 3 col) but when I do the labels print high so that the name line is cut in half horizontally. Our laser printer and the program are not in sync I guess.
When I go to preferences/mailing label setup, default label format is 'Custom label setting'/click on Custom labels/change from 3 to 2 colums/ok/ok. I then go to Contributions/Print mailing labels/selected contributors (b/c I only want envelopes 1-300). I do the selection/OK/ and then set Type of labels to Custom label Setting/OK.
As far as I can tell I'm following all the steps. I still get 3 cols wide labels.
I've used thes settings for the last many years. What could I be missing?

Re: Custom mailing labels problem
OK, Now I know the answer.
To change the Custom layout from 3 columns to 2 columns, or from 3 cols to 2 columns, I have to also click the Reset Layout button and then choose the 20 or 30 label sheets. I didn't have to do that in previous versions. The people in this office are not going to want to have to do that.

Re: Custom mailing labels problem
That actually hasn't changed in many, many years. You do have to reset the layout if you want to switch to a different format of labels.
