Family Email Not Defaulting To Personal Profiles

I am running Version11.1. Because of previous versions of PC+, all of my email addresses are located in Personal Profiles. Per a previous post, I have tried group emailing through Family Mailing (because of criteria choices I want to use there) but it does not default to the email addresses that are located in Personal Profiles (since there are none in Family Mailing). It correctly locates the records that do not have any email addresses in Personal Profiles and asks what I want to do with those but after responding to that question it says nothing matches my criteria. As a test, I have opened up the criteria completely to get every record and I have the same problem so I know its not a criteria question.
Any suggestions?

I'm fairly sure that the logic that was setup for emails was that if there were none in the family mailing list, it would use the ones in the personal profiles. Are those emails selected for bulk mailing ?? I'm not quite sure but I believe that the checkbox needs to be selected on the personal profile. I just tested that and all the names that turned up did not have addresses listed on the mailing list profile, but only on the personal profiles. Those bulk mail boxes were checked on the personal profile only.
BTW .. are you on the Dec 7th MR ?? Just to let the techs know what code base they're talking about.
The logic behind the selection is listed in this thread:

Currently in Family Mailing there is no email address and the Bulk Mail box is not checked .... in Personal Profiles there is an email address and the Bulk Mail box is checked. When I run Group Email from Family, nothing is ever found (even though the criteria are fully opened) and it doesnt pick up the email from Personal.
If in Family I enter an email address and the Bulk Mail is not checked, nothing is found.
If in Family I enter and email address and the Bulk Mail is checked, it works fine. This defeats my purpose though. I dont want to re-enter addresses back in Family. I want it to default to the addresses already in Personal.
The thread you pointed out indicates that by running email through Family it should default to the address in personal if there is not one in Family but it doesnt seem to be working that way.

Under Help, look for
About Powerchurch , on the popup that appears, click the System Information tab, and you'll see the date of the program. That should reflect the latest Maintenance Release, if its doesn't you should manually download the latest release and install it.
That will get you up to the latest fixes, and the techs can then discount any previously fixed items.

Thanks for info on how to determine the MR release date. I have the 12/7 MR. I have paid for tech support so I will give them a call on monday about this.

I suspect something is not set properly, as the system works with my test system here; and I suspect it will be an easy fix.

I researched this problem and determined three things which could possibly bring this behavior.
- The family is not set to be included in membership module reports.
- The profile Adult flag is not set. I have a feeling this is the cause of what you are currently experiencing.
- The profile table index is not working correctly. Though I suspect you would not see some or all the family members listed in the Integrated Data Entry screen.

Thanks Tracy! It was the ADULT flag in Personal Profiles. Once that was checked, it worked just like it was suppose to.

I was just reading through this conversation, as I am sending a group email through Family. I was wondering if there is NO email address in Family, will the system pull the Personal profile email. It seems it should. I am wondering about the adult flag? If the person is not listed as an adult, will it not pull the address?

It will pull e-mails from Personal Profiles if there is no family e-mail address. You are correct, it will not pull the profile e-mail address from someone who is not marked as an adult.
