I'm trying to create custom labels to be used on packages that we are mailing to our college students. It appears that there are only 3 options for labels (14, 20 or 30 to a page) then a custom label. I want to use the Avery 5395 which is 8 labels to a page (2" x 4" each label). I don't see a way to either select that option or set it up myself. It would be nice to have multiple options for labels like you get in a MS Word document.

The problem is that Powerchurch is setup for regular mailings. The 2"x4" label is not normally used on envelopes, and frankly, I've not seen that much of a call for this to be added to the system, not to mention that there are literally over a hundred different types of labels available, so the least common denominator thinking has to be used.

However, there is a way around it by exporting the label data to a comma separated value (.CSV) file, then use that data in the free Avery Design Pro software (http://preview.tinyurl.com/5bt47v) to create your labels.

You can save your selection criteria so you can reuse that over and over in Powerchurch, then save the design for the labels in the Avery software for reuse.

It may not be as simple as just printing them, but you'll have some flexibility using the Avery software you wouldn't have just using Powerchurch.

I appreciate your answering so quickly. How do I export the label data? I tried to create the labels but there is no option to save the file like there is in other report options. Is it in the "Other Reports" option then "Custom Reports"?

Use the Other Output function under Personal Profiles, then Export Data. You'll get the standard report filter type of screen, then you'll be asked what data you want to export. Since it appears that you're sending out to college students, I'm going to assume that you have them setup with their own Mailing List Profile.

On the data screen, you can either select the Mailing Name or the standard first & last name, along with the address (street address), city, state and zip.

Once you select the data, it will then ask you the type of format you want the data in, then create the file.

You can create a custom mailing label in PowerChurch. Base it on the 20 label sheet and just adjust the height of the band so it prints 8 per page.
