huge gaps in QMF_Temp.xls?

Not sure if this is right forum, if not, please move to the correct location. . .
A couple users of powerchurch in our office have noted that exported data to QMF_Temp.xls is now showing up with huge gaps between rows and columns.
Is there a way to prevent powerchurch from adding these gaps?
We are using version 11, and office 2010. OS environment is win7 home premium.

Could you be specific as to what report is doing this ??

PowerChurch should not export the data with the gaps. The gaps are probably a formatting behavior of Office 2010, or the up conversion from Excel 97 format.

Various reports get exported to the qmf_temp.xls file, so I can't say exactly. One report is a custom membership listing that I know of.
Is PC saving to the excel97 format? If so, then Tracy may have hit it on the head, as I've seen Word 2007 and Word 2010 do strange formatting things to Word 97 files. In Word, you can change the default style to 2000 to get rid of the formatting behaviour. Not sure about Excel though. . . Interesting thought Tracy. . . Now to see if Excel has a way of adjusting how it imports older formats. . .

Powerchurch does save to the MS Office 97-2003 formats to be as compatible as possible for all users.

Ok, I did some digging online and modified a set of instructions to produce the following for anyone who needs this in their own offices:
Load qmf_temp.xls in Excel 2010
Go to the Home tab in Excel 2010
Click on the down arrow under "Find and Select" at the far right of the ribbon.
Click on "Go to Special"
Select “Blanks”
All the blank cells will be selected.
Press CTRL and Minus sign (-)
Select “shift cells up”
This solved the massive gap problem.
