I'm trying to create a file to export to LifeTouch for a new directory. I'm able to create an Excel spreadsheet, but it includes everyone including those who should not be in the directory like businesses or the deceased. So question #1 is: Is there a setting I can use to only include those that I want?
It does not include anything beyond family name, address, etc. Question #2 is: How do I get it to include spouse and children's names?
I'm using Windows 7 with PowerChurch v. 11.1, if that is of any help.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Re: Creating a file for LifeTouch
You can create a file specifically designed for LifeTouch under Personal Profiles > Other Output > Create File for Pictorial Directory Co. It is an "LCD" file type created to their specifications.
The Selection Criteria screen that pops up allows you to make all the selections to exclude people that you do not want to include in the directory.

Thank you.
Now... how do I open the file to make sure it's what I want to send?

Re: Creating a file for LifeTouch
The file is in a strange format to just open and try to read, but it is the file format that they want.
If you send that to LifeTouch and have your directory created, you will be able to import pictures directly from the CD they give you.

Re: Creating a file for LifeTouch
This process has been quite backward. We already have the pictures and I have the imported already.
I'm glad I opened the file in Notepad because I was able to realize that in the case of families, the parents aren't in the files. So now I have to go through to see why. Do you have any suggestions?

Re: Creating a file for LifeTouch
The file that is created for Lifetouch will have three different types of records in it. One record for the church's information, then a set of records for family information, and a third for each individual person. The file is created to the standards that Lifetouch asked for.
