When I send a group e-mail, I frequently (but not always) get the following message:

MAILASSIST.OBULKMAIL
ADD NAMES
Error 1426 OLE error
code 0x80070057
Parameter is incorrect

Then it totally closes down the program and I have to re-start it. But I hear back from some of the people that I have sent the message to that they did receive it, but short of calling people, I have no way of knowing whether everyone received it or not.

Any insight on what is going on here?

This sounds like you have an e-mail address with an non-valid character in it. It might be due to corruption in your data.
Run the report in Personal Profiles "E-mail Addresses Included in Bulk Mailings" to search for odd e-mail addresses.
