Entering "Elders" and "who visits"

In Integrated Data Entry, Maintain family Mail Lists, and in Visitations, one can only enter a 6 digit name for "Who Visits" such as elder1, etc up to elder9, but in Personal Profiles, Activities & Skills, and Attendance one can enter a 7 digit name such as elder 1, elder 2 , etc.
My problem is that since all elders were entered in our code as elder 1,
elder 2, etc, I cannot use the same designation in my custom reports unless I go and change the data entries for this code. That is quite a bit of work.
Is there a mass change that can be done to change elder 1, etc to elder1, etc? that is without the space between the number and "r".
