How to simply COPY contact information into a Word processor
I would love to just go to a contact's address information, highlight, copy and paste it into a Word Processor.
How do we do that in PC Online?
Thanks

I haven't tested it in PC Online, but go to Integrated Data Entry or Maintain Family Mailing List and right click the mouse. Choose Copy Contact Information.

Uh --- spoke to soon. I actually see the dialog box coming up on right click but when I copy it will paste only internally to PC Online but to nothing else (Word, Notepad, etc).
Can we paste to programs external to PC Online?
Thanks

I know that in GoToMyPC, all you need to do is do the standard cut and paste to your local computer. Is there any type of HELP in the iDS client ?? That may give you some assistance on this.chucksings wrote:Uh --- spoke to soon. Well for the record ---- I attempted on the Church Secretary's Computer a COPY command in Integrated Data as described above and the original problem replicated ---- we could not get the information (any information) to copy into Word.
I suspect something is amiss here.

Re: How to simply COPY contact information into a Word processor
This morning I tested this again. I have found on different workstations the behavior is you described is presenting, and others not.
Today, you can highlight the text you want to COPY and press the CTRL+Insert key combination. Then in your local text editor you should be able to paste using normal means.
Does exporting the Event calendar work for you? We've written this up to change the few places using one methodology to use this one. It has worked on the workstations I've tested this morning.
Open the Event Calendar, click the Export Calendar button (has a diskette image). Click the OK button. Paste to your local workstation.

Re: How to simply COPY contact information into a Word processor
As I have mentioned above ---- I have replicated this problem on multiple machines.
CTRL-Insert does not work. Using Edit-Copy Menu does not work. Right clicking the dialogue box in Integrated Date and choosing Copy Address Information does not place anything in the clipboard either.
I do not think this feature is working.

For the record ---- Tracy (above --- who has apparently also experienced this presenting issue in some settings) also mentioned me trying "Event Copy" to see if it is functioning.
At least on the PC I am at this evening ---- it also does not place anything in the Clipboard.

Doing more testing, and working with the administrator of the servers, I believe we have solved this problem.
