I am having the same problem on the PC I normally use and was told by tech support that the problem was in my wireless router and to plug directly into my modem. No Help! I installed the IDS- client app on another computer I have and it functions correctly contected to the same wireless router. What Goes???

In most cases, the port 491 message indicates that the IDS Client is being blocked by a software firewall. Port 491 needs to be open for the IDS Client to contact our server. This message is shown when it cannot contact the server. You will need to check your local security software on this workstation to make sure that the IDS Client is not being blocked. In Windows Firewall as an example, there is a way to change the settings to allow a program to communicate through the firewall.

Since you state that another computer on the same network can access the PowerChurch Online, then it would be settings specific to the computer having issues.
