OLE IDispatch exception code 0 from msxml3.dll

Post by denniston »

I am trying to run the check in client on a newly deployed computer and I keep getting this error:

OLE IDispatch exception code 0 from msxml3.dll: The URL is invalid.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I have ran the .NET update, and still get this error.

Thanks!

Just to verify:

1. What version of Windows
2. You installed from the original disk? What was the program date on that?
3. Have you installed the latest MR ?? The system should automatically done this once you connect, but since you can't this may be the issue.
4. Other computers have no problem accessing the main Powerchurch computer??
5. If yes, are you using the same server name and port as they use??

When we have seen this error in the past, it is usually something invalid in the Kiosk Setup.

These settings are saved in a file called "kiosk.ini" inside the C:\PowerChurch\CheckIn11\ directory.

Try renaming that file to something like "kioskOLD.ini". The next time you start up the kiosk, it will take you back to the Setup screen, asking for the server name and the rest of the settings on that screen.
