Re: transferring between accounts
No .. transfer accounts are used to transfer between Funds, not between asset accounts in the same fund.sdavis0000 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 07, 2025 2:36 amI've set up my bank accounts in one fund 01 (operations, check only, savings and building fund) do i have to set a second fund account to make transfers

For that, you would create a simple Fund Account transaction.
For example: Main checking account: 01-1110-000, Savings: 01-1210-000 , to transfer from savings to checking you'd create this:
01-1110-000 DEBIT $1000.00 - money in
01-1210-000 CREDIT $1000.00 - money out

Re: transferring between accounts
confused again, in transferring.
the women ministry is giving $200 to the building fund. their funds are in the savings account and the building fund has its own account.
How do i make this entry? that the balance of the women ministry balance is less $200 and the savings is less $200 and the building fund gets $200?

Re: transferring between accounts
Are they in the same Accounting Fund? That is, do both accounts begin with the same number or letter combination? Powerchurch defaults to using 01- as the Operations Accounting Fund, each accounting fund has its own 2 letter or number identifier. If they are both the same, then there is no need to use transfer accounts, as its a simple debit/credit transaction within the same accounting fund.sdavis0000 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 02, 2025 1:25 pmconfused again, in transferring.

However, if one starts with 01 and the other with 04, then you would use a transfer account. Here's an example from the Powerchurch Manual, which can be found in the PCPLUS14 (or PCPLUSxx where xx is the version you use) as pcplusxx.pdf.
Code: Select all
In the following example, $750 is transferred from the 01 fund checking account into the
02 fund checking account using the simple transfer setup.
Account Description Debit Credit
01-1110-000 Checking Account 750.00
01-9100-000 Transfer to Other Funds 750.00
02-1110-000 Checking Account 750.00
02-9200-000 Transfer from Other Funds 750.00
Does this help?
