Vendor Name field length

Vendor Name field length

Is there a way to make the Vendor Name field longer? I often have to make cheques out to organizations with long names and can't fit the name in the available field. For example, today I'm doing a cheque to the "Centre for Evangelism and World Mission", to fit that in the field, I had to modify it to "CtrForEvangelism+WorldMission". Cheques to the government are also a problem in the address fields.
