W-4 How does it effect payroll on PC
I have used powerchurch for a couple years now. However I have never used it for payroll. I want to begin to do our payroll on it in 2009. I made the record of employees. I entered in the tax tables. I set up the pay items using the tax tables. Then I ran off a payroll sample by entering in hours and seeing what Powerchurch came up with compared to the previous payroll program being used (Quickbooks). The figures were different than the Quickbooks figures. I discovered this was because we did not take into account W-4 dependence and extra with holding. The problem is that I do not know how Powerchurch takes this into account or what I need to do to set it up. I am sure Powerchurch can automatically do this or no one would use it for their payroll. So I need some advice on how to input data from the w-4 forms to be taken into account by the payroll module so we can have the payroll automatically figured and printed for us.

The system will also figure the normal (not extra) withholding for you. You do have to load the tax tables, and that information can be found on page 294 of the version 10 manual, or if you go into Payroll => Maintain Tax Tables and press the F1 key, the online help can guide you.Pastor1995 wrote:Thank you I have it figured out.
