re-posting contributions

My accounts have been cleared back to zero and I would like to re-post existing contibution data/history. Is there a way to do that, since they have already beed posted before? Will I have to manually re-enter each contibution again?

I'm assuming you've only reset your accounting, and not your contributions. In this case, you would not want to reenter contributions in the contributions module, because that would just double everything. You can run a funds report in contributions to see the totals for particular dates and use those to help create journal entries in fund accounting (accounting->fund accounting->enter transactions). All that gets entered in fund accounting are the totals anyway, so you wouldn't need to reenter every single contribution again.

If you've started over completely and your contribution data is wiped out too, then you'd probably want to reenter everything in contributions and then post to fund accounting that way, month-by-month.
