Check Printing Software
I am in the process of ordering new check stock. I would like to investigate printing checks on blank paper (including the MICR portion). Does Power Church have a module or recommendation for software to print checks on blank paper?
Re: Check Printing Software
Powerchurch does not have the capability of printing anything beyond the standard check data. The company that is recommended by Powerchurch has a current special where with the listed coupon code, you will get 500 checks at the 250 check price.jordan2k510 wrote:I am in the process of ordering new check stock. You can buy checks from other vendors than modify the check format to account for differences.

Re: Check Printing Software
The main difference that I see between Dynamic Systems and other laser check vendors is that DS does not include the check number on the check. PowerChurch prints the number. Does PC keep track of check numbers to avoid a duplicate number? Is it preferable to have checks with preprinted numbers? Currently using old check stock with preprinted numbers with the result that the check number is repeated on the check when printed from PC. Also, is the PC software most like MS Money? If not which software is it most like in order to use the standard check format?
Re: Check Printing Software
No it does not keep track of the numbers, you are asked what the next check number is to use. FWIW, at all the churches I've been, when using Powerchurch they use pre-numbered checks. You can, if you want, edit the check layout to remove the check number from the actual check part of the printing, but leave it on the stubs, or just continue to print it. In any case, having the numbers pre-printed makes it very easy to prevent the reuse of a number.jordan2k510 wrote:The main difference that I see between Dynamic Systems and other laser check vendors is that DS does not include the check number on the check. FWIW ... it will use standard laser checks, and you can then tweak the layout to adjust for minor differences. Our church here uses the standard Laser Top Check with 2 stub layout that's built in the system. I don't have my manual available, but there are instructions on how to adjust the layout in the PCPlus manual.
