This may be a case of operator (me) not understanding how the feature is intended to work.
Typically, I process Accounts Payable at the end of the month, processing all of the manual checks at one time (we do not use invoices or computer-generated checks).
I set the release date range for the month (e.g., 05/01/2010 to 5/28/2010) and select for items paid weekly and monthly. My expectation is that all the items with a monthly pattern will be released 1 time (which they are) and that all the items with a weekly pattern will be released multiple times, once for each pay period in the month that I am preparing to process. However, that does not happen. Only 1 instance of each weekly item is released. At this point I have 2 options: enter each of the remaining weekly payments manually (as in V10) or go back into Release Repeating Items and re-select weekly items repeatedly until all the payments for the month have been processed.
If this is how the software is intended to function, then I will have learned something new about PC+.
However, it seems to me it would be more convenient to have all the possible releases for the defined date range at least show up in the subsequent list of items to release so the user could have the option of including (or not) all the items for that date range.
Again, in our instance I am processing manual checks "after the fact." The checks have already been written and distributed; I am simply getting the software "caught up" with the physical checkbook register.
Thanks!
Eden
(I had previously posted this as a follow-up to a payroll question. After re-reading and digesting the original poster's question, I realized my question didn't have anything to do with his. Sorry if this has caused any inconvenience for anyone. )

Re: A/P - Release Repeating Items
Eden:
I think I agree with you. Given the new date range for releasing items, instead of one date, the assumption is that all possible releases will be made.
