Wrong posting month

Post by Jeanie »

Help. I posted all of May's transactions in June along with June. Now two months are in one. Is there a way I can fix this? I sure hope there is a way to change dates and not have to reverse and put all the transactions in again. Help please.

June. I had some May that I had not posted yet and was doing it to balance the bank statement and forgot to change the posting month.

If you closed May, then you cannot go back and post in May. I didn't ask the right question.

Is May closed?

If not, you can go into Fund Accounting, View Posted Transactions, and locate your May transactions, one-at-a-time, and REVERSE them by clicking on the REVERSE tab.

Post the reversed transactions in the same month as the original transactions (June, I guess), and re-enter the May transactions and post in May.

If May is closed, there is nothing you can do.

Thank you. No I have not closed May. I figured that might be what I had to do by reading the manuel but was hoping for a better solution. I have a back up of before I posted May's that I could restore and then go from there. Would that work? Thanks for your help.

If you haven't entered a lot of transactions, you can restore the backup.

If you have a considerable number of transactions, using the View Posted Transactions and REVERSE is a better strategy.

Glad to know you didn't close May. That gives you a little room for decision making.
