Starting acctg. over but not member. & contr. data

Post by Heidilr1 »

We have been using PC v. 10 for 1 year. I just started as the church treasurer, and it seems to me the best way to have accurate #s for our new fiscal year (10/1-9/30), is to start over. If I start over on the acctg. side, will this erase all our membership data, contributions info, etc.? I want to set up a new chart of accounts, beginning balances in asset, liab. & equity accounts, etc.

Thank you for your help.

The Accounting module in PCPlus does not directly interface with any other module's database files (Membership or Contributions), so a restart will not cause you any issues with those modules.

The only thing you'll have to verify is if you change the checking account number and/or the contribution income account numbers, you'll have to change them in the Contribution module under the Maintain Contribution Fund section.
