When I printed off Year End Contribution statements, there were a few errors. One was that the Fund Summary break-down was placing a contribution into a fund that was not selected. So, someone gave money as a pledge and it showed up in our Flower Fund even though it was entered as a pledge. Is there a bug in the system or do we have an error in the way our system is set up?
Thanks,

Sounds like an entry error, easily fixed.Intercession wrote:When I printed off Year End Contribution statements, there were a few errors. Thanks,
1. Enter a contribution for the same date and fund, but use a negative amount. This will wipe out the incorrect entry.
2. Enter the correction by entering the same date, the correct fund, and the correct amount.
Post these to Funds Accounting, and the statement will be corrected, and the corrected Funds Account transactions will be created, which when posted to Funds Accounting will correct the income accounts.

Re: Contribution Statement Error
Thank you for your response. We checked all of the entries on our unposted transaction report, which we print and save for the year. and they were all correct. All of the money was put in the correct funds. So the 130.00 was entered to the pledge fund and 30.00 was entered to the flower fund. Both of these contributions were in the month of March. When we print the End of the year contribution statement, it shows that 160.00 was given to the flower fund. It also shows 130.00 for pledges. We are wondering if it is a glitch in the system since it is during the same month. If we take away the 130.00 from the flower fund, it will decrease her pledge by 130.00. Has this been a problem for anyone else?

Re: Contribution Statement Error
Take a look at the Contributions -> Pledges -> Maintain Pledges screen. Locate the envelope number and see what has been applied to the Pledge in the Pledge Detail screen. This might help you determine where the extra is coming from.
