Hi,
I am in the process of setting up the Chart of Accounts in Powerchurch. I finished entering
all info and ran an Income/Expense report to check my chart of accounts setup and balances.
I noticed that one or two expense categories to do not show a Total (Expense) line; thus
the totals for those expense accounts are not included in grand expense totals for the report.
What am I missing in terms of setting up my accounts? The problems is particularly with accounts that have no balances so I thought that was because the balances were zero. I have one account (Equipment) that
has balances in individual accounts, but no final balance is tallied for that category or included in expense totals for the whole report.
Does anyone have an ideas as to what might be wrong? (Input error or ?)
Thank you!

Re: New User: Income/Expense report not showing totals
The choices for running an Income and Expense report include:
Fund Range
Account Range
Sub-account Range
Month Range
Level Range
Are you excluding any information by month range, for example?
Another possibility is that you are talking about Sub-totals. Sub-totals are a result of organizing the Levels of the Accounts.
A Level 4 account will sub-total all subsequent level 5 and level 6 accounts when the next level 4 account follows.
For example,
GROUP Expense, Level 4, EQUIPMENT
Detail Expense, Level 5, Office Equipment
Detail Expense, Level 5, Music Equipment
Detail Utilities, Level 4, Heating Oil
EQUIPMENT will sub-total Office and Music Equipment because it encounters a level 4 Utility account next.
It doesn't matter that Heating Oil is a Detail account. It matters that it level 4.

Re: New User: Income/Expense report not showing totals
Hi John,
Thank you for your response! I had to add a general heading (level 2), which I needed anyhow.
Then I changed the Equipment heading to level 3, and the accounts below it kept at a level 4.
Everything works out now. I originally had the Equipment heading as a level 2, and the accounts
below at level 4.
Thank you!
