Working Month

I am unable to change my working month to July 2013 in Fund Accounting. It only gives me the option through June. Any ideas why, or how to change that? I was able to post accounting, payroll and contributions to July, but they do not show up on reports. I am guessing that it is because of not being able to get to a July working month. Is that true, or are there two separate issues going on here?

You (or someone with full admin access) needs to go into File => Preferences => Accounting Setup and change the Number of months that can be open at one time setting. This will allow you to keep the entire year open to make adjustments, if you set it to 12, or a year and a half if you set it to 18.

Once you reach that limit, you'll have to Close the earliest month so you can then open another.

For example: you have the setting set for 18 months. You can access and update information from January 2012 thru June 2013. Since you finally cleared up any issues you had with 2012, you can CLOSE all the months from January 2012 thru December 2012. You can then change your working month to July 2013.

You can then keep the months open to June 2014, at which time if you didn't close out 2013 by then, you would have to do so to continue.
