1099 question
This is my first year doing taxes here and I have a few questions. First of all, when someone has a wedding at the church typically they are paying for an Organist, Hostess, Minister etc... At the end of the year if someone has made $600 or more do I issue them a 1099? Also, when we have a pastor replacement is this the same thing and I should issue a 1099? Little confused on the rules. Thanks!!!
Re: 1099 question
I would love an answer to this as well. I ran the 1099 vendor list, but I'm afraid that not all are included on the list. Need to know who all needs one
Re: 1099 question
The best way to find out the rules is going to the source, IRS.GOV:
http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1099msc_13.pdf
These rules for are for 2013, there is a new version for 2014 return, due in Jan 2015.

Re: 1099 question
I've marked people as 1099 but they won't show up on the 1099 report. Any idea how to change that?
Re: 1099 question
I think I finally figured it out. I was changing the status of the check to 1099, but you have to click account information. Under account information you need to check the box that says print 1099. That will add the vendor to the 1099 report you will need to fill in the actual 1099 form
