I will have to admit that I am confused. This sounds like one of those situations where I would need to see your records in order to understand what is going on with the $4.22 and what needs to be done to correct.

Don't know if you guys solved this but I like Debbie's method.
I created the following contribution funds:
102 Paypal T&O
202 Paypal Missions
302 Paypal Bldg Fund
(will add more as other donations are made)

I created the following Bank accounts to receive these donations:
1150-000 Online Bank Accounts (Group)
1150-001 Paypal T&O
1150-010 Paypal Bldg Fund
1150-012 Paypal Missions
(again, will add more as other donations are made)

As donations come in, I enter thru "Contributions" for full amount.
Post the contribution.
Find that "UNPOSTED" transaction in Fund Acctg.
Add the following two lines to it so it appears like:

01-1150-001 Paypal T&O Contributions 01-1150-001 Deb $60
01-4010-001 T&O Paypal T&O Crd $60
01-1150-001 Paypal T&O Deduct Fees Crd $2.04
01-5420-000 Bank Fees Paypal Fees Deb $2.04

After I post it, I can run a Balance Sheet Report and it will show
ONLINE ACCOUNTS
Paypal T&O $57.96
(+ Any other Paypal accounts that have received donations)

I can let these accounts build up until I am ready to transfer them to the checking accts from Paypal and I then know how much to transfer to the different funds. The donor has also received the full amount of his donation.
BTW- This will also show correctly for each 4010-*** Income account on the "Income & Expense" Report.
Hope that helps!

I have been researching electronic contributions using a few services and contacting some churches in our Association who are doing electronic contributions.
My question is, does PayPal charge for any fee when a donor using their bank account rather than their debit/credit card? I am reading it is no charge but want to be sure.

Thanks for all input.

If the person sends funds using their bank account from their email account to family or friends, it costs nothing. However, if you're sending it to a church (Paypal business account), the church pays the fees. So if the donor sends $10, the church may get 9.75.

If they use a credit card, then additional fees would be accessed against the church.
