moving information from one version to another
Our church via me being hired, went back to using an old version of Power church (10.4) in January. Prior to that the bookkeeper was doing a manual system via excel spreadsheets to get her information organized. I said whooee with that and reopened Power church and since she was very behind on keeping up to date with her 2013 financial information went back and entered as quickly as possible via A/P manual checks and misc. contributor all the activity that happened last year. At the same time I have another set of power church operating trying to get whats happening in 2014 into the system using Payroll and A/P so far. Now that I have 2013 where it needed to be I want to transfer that prior year information into my current year Power church system. Is there any easy way to do that? I really don't want to lose that prior year data since in our case it would be helpful for the Pastor to be able to see more then current year activity. We are going to upgrade to the newest version of Power church as soon as our Fellowship One Software annual fee runs out in a couple months. Thanks for any help?
Now go out and take on the day!

Re: moving information from one version to another
I believe that even though PowerChurch divides time into months and years, it is a continuum. In other words, this year's accounting is a continuation of last year's accounting.
If you start at the beginning of 2013, for example, that is your starting point, and everything goes forward from there. You can't really add stuff retroactively. It would mess up your beginning balances and so on.
What I would do (what I actually do, for that matter) is keep a second version of PowerChurch installed in a separate directory with the historical data in it. If you want to look at past records, just run your reports from that installation.
My current installation of PowerChurch begins with 2011. 2010 and back are in a separate installation (and an older version) of PowerChurch.
