duplicate entries on all my posts

I am setting up for the third time...just put all contributions and payables in for Jan....reports show duplicates of both contributions and accounts payable entries.? Have no idea what is going on.

I am not an expert but I think before anyone can help you, you will need to post more detailed information. What reports are showing duplicates? Copy and paste a small portion of the duplicate entries so that we can view what you are referring to on the reports and any more detailed information that may help in determining the problem.

How are you setting up Accounting? If you're using Accounting Setup it asks you for the beginning balances, along with any outstanding checks. Are you inputting your payables there first, then entering them later ?

If you're not restarting Accounting when you begin, that could be an issue. Contributions are only posted to Funds Accounting when you post from Contributions. Once Contributions are posted, there is no way to 'repost' to Funds Accounting from Contributions.

However, are you backing up, doing a change, then restoring ??

The previous poster is correct, not knowing exactly what you're seeing, what reports and so on. we can't do much but speculate.

Resolved problem...great tech support...being new...I missed something. I reversed the contribution postings that were duplicate (still not sure where they came from) but did not post the reversals...so they were still showing up. thanks for a listening ear.
