Correcting restricted fund balance

Post by willsell »

Have a temporarily restricted account that shows a balance of $100.00 on the balance sheet.
How can I make the account balance $0?

Were you supposed to release money at some point ?? If so, you could just enter the transaction in Funds Accounting, clicking on the 'release restricted funds' button and release the $100. I would definitely include as much supporting information as possible in the comment box.

The problem is checks were cut but the release was never done.
Our balance sheet shows that we have a $100 Balance in the equity account 3201.
What JE can I make to set that balance to $0?

Do the release ... that will correct the problem.
