Posting Contributions, etc.

Post by Ada676 »

When a Sunday falls on the last day of the month, are those funds suppose to be included in that month or because I'm posting in the next month, the current month? Hope this makes sense. So the bank deposit will be made today (Dec.), but contributions, etc are entered using the November date. Thanks for your help!

The program will create the transaction date when you post. If you have Funds Accounting setup to use the "Transaction Date" to determine the accounting month (which is the default), when you Post Contributions, it will use the date of November 30th as the transaction date, and create the transactions in Funds Accounting using Nov 30th.

You can verify this if you have access to Funds Accounting and look at the transaction created when you posted Contributions.

However, if that default of Transaction Date is not used (someone changed the setting), you can change the Funds Accounting Transaction created to Nov 30th, and November as the accounting month.

FWIW .. you do want to show the November income in November.
