Payroll

Post by kilpatrick »

Hi!

I have PowerChurch 11.5, and I have a question about payroll. Our copy machine/printer is down, so I will be hand writing payroll. Can I enter payroll as usual, but not print them? My concern is the tax calculations. I was hoping to be able to enter payroll, but then mark it as printed. Hand write the checks, but it is still in the system.

Instead of printing checks, use the payment type manual checks. Then you can just type in whatever check numbers were originally assigned.

Do the normal Process Payroll steps, let the system do all the calculations as normal. However at the end when you get the Verify Payroll screen that lists all the employees, deductions, etc. The screen where you can select an employee and see the check details. On that screen in the column Payment Method select Manual Check, this will allow you to enter the check number of the manually written check, and the system will use that in its history. You should then be able to click on the Finish button. The next screen may ask if you want to print payroll stubs, but there you can say no.

My advice is if you're not sure about this, do a complete backup, try the method, if it doesn't work, you can restore to just before you started. That said, I think you'll find that it works quite well.
