Account Activity

I am new at useing the accounting module. I ran a report under "report acounting" and I chose account activity. At the end of the report my debit and credit balances were the exact same. I am not absolutely sure I have been entering everything in correctly so I don't know if this is correct or not. I don't mean is the amount correct, I am just wondering if the debit and credit balances are suppose to be the same or should they show different numbers?

If you are looking at all of your accounts, then total debits should equal total credits. If you are looking at a particular account or group of accounts (not an entire fund), then it depends on what you entered. More than likely, the debits will not equal the credits in most single accounts or group of accounts like revenues and expenses in a fund.
