Hello, can anyone tell me if there is a way to regenerate a direct deposit file without having to delete the payroll records and start again? I hit cancel to change the name of the direct deposit file and it took be back to the last step of the payroll screen and would not allow me to go back and create the direct deposit file.
Thanks!

Re: Regenerate Direct Deposit File
Um .. are you sure the Payroll was created ??? Usually, it won't be finalized until you printed the PayStubs or said you didn't want to. Did you check to see if there was anything under Unposted Payroll ??tena20719 wrote:Hello, can anyone tell me if there is a way to regenerate a direct deposit file without having to delete the payroll records and start again? Re: Regenerate Direct Deposit File
Hey Neil,
I had already printed the paystubs and payroll checks. I then clicked on the direct deposit button and it takes me to a box where I name the direct deposit file. I accidently hit on an old payroll file and then I hit cancel so I could put the correct file name and extension in. When I hit cancel it took me back to the box that has print the stubs, checks and direct deposit file but the direct deposit button was no longer available for me to click on. All you can hit is the close button. The payroll is definitely unposted but I can't find a way to recreate the direct deposit file to send to the bank.
It looks like you have to delete all of the unposted payroll records and start again from scratch to get the opportunity to create a direct deposit file again.
Any insight you have is appreciated!
Thanks,
Tena

Re: Regenerate Direct Deposit File
Well, you shouldn't DELETE them, VOID them instead for the audit trail as just deleting them may still leave an entry under the payroll history; but only VOID the DIRECT DEPOSIT entries, not the already printed checks. They're fine, so no need to touch those.tena20719 wrote:Hey Neil,

Then just run payroll for those direct deposit employees.
