Reverse a Reconciled Deposit?

Post by ShannonM »

Hello,

I just started working at this church in May. The accounts were a little wacky to begin with, but I haven't been able to get April balanced yet. Upon speaking with the Vestry, it was agreed to just move forward although the month of April didn't balance. I then discovered that I had accidentally reconciled a deposit that should have been in May. How do I correct this?

Unfortunately, I am discovering things now that would have been beneficial to know when I started, but nobody else here knows the system at all. I am pretty tech savvy, but have found this system a little clunky (no offense). Any idea when there will be some major updates?

Um ... that's why April didn't balance. Not much you can do about it now, just print off the reconciliation which should show that you have more in Powerchurch, than the bank had. May's reconciliation should even it out. If not, then come back here.

By clunky, exactly what do you mean, and by major update, what are you expecting to see? You have to remember, Powerchurch is a small company with a niche market. It doesn't have the resources Intuit or other companies have.
