a half hour = .50 or .30

Post by SRBCsmyrna »

I have not been able to find the answer to hour to enter a person's normal working hours when they only work 3-1/2 hours in order to pay them correctly. Would it be 3.5 x $10 or 3.3 x $10. I think it should be 3.5, but since I can't find the exact answer and I know other software is different, I don't want to assume. We are using PowerChurch Plus 11.55.

Thank you.

The system expects decimal hours. If you look at the data boxes, it defaults to 0.00. So three and a half hours is 3.50 hrs.

Thank you so much! That's what I assumed but my co-worker said she thought it was the other way (3.30) for thirty minutes.

If you enter that you would only see a bit less than 3 1/3 hours. The program does a simple multiplication so 3.5 x 8.50 an hour would be: 29.75, but 3.30 would be only 28.05.

If you entered 3.30, that's only 3 hours 18 minutes.
