W2 not splitting state and local taxes
My W2s did not split my Indiana state and Allen county local taxes on the forms, even though they are posted to different GL liability accounts. Is there a way to program what the W2 form prints, thank you
Re: W2 not splitting state and local taxes
The state and local taxes should have a separate Tax Type, then separate Tax Tables, then separate Tax Item Descriptions, and separate Pay Items on the Employees Pay Item tab. If this is the case, they should be broken down on the W-2.kmccollister wrote:My W2s did not split my Indiana state and Allen county local taxes on the forms, even though they are posted to different GL liability accounts. I'm suspecting that they may be sharing the Tax Type, or the tax type was incorrectly assigned on the Item Descriptions. Please check and let us know.

I added a new tax type for the local tax, what is the next step
Re: W2 not splitting state and local taxes
You need to change the tax type in the Item Description for your local tax so it is now using the new tax type. That should split out the taxes.kmccollister wrote:I added a new tax type for the local tax, what is the next step
I because I have to cover employees that live in different areas of Pennsylvania, and each has its own Earned Income Tax and School Tax, I have to have 4 different tax types setup. along with separate Item Descriptions for each one.
