Unrestricted Net Assets - 3110-000

Post by cbrown »

After my restart of the accounting module I have Unrestricted Net Assets, account 3110-000 at negative $220,000. I used the setup assistant and followed all the procedures. I have not been able to get a good explanation that I can understand about what goes into that account and why it's so large, and negative. My trial balance is fine at -0- .

There is something that should not be closing to the Unrestricted Net Assets. I would look at your investment accounts.

However, trying to figure this out on the forum or via email is very difficult. Do you have an accountant in your congregation that you could consult with? He would have to be familiar with fund (cash basis) accounting.

Sadly, no. I’ll pull the report and look for something wrong.

Take a look at the Detail Changes in Equity report. It is essentially an Account Activity report that shows all the income, expense, transfers, and direct transactions that affect an equity account. It shows the beginning balance, list of transactions, and ending balance and will show you how that account ended up with that balance.
