Deletion of old Data

I backed up my program and deleted everything up to Jan. 2018.
I still have 2010 to 2017 files when I go to modify unposted data, I don't know why and how to get ride of those files.

Um ... you have unposted transactions from 2010?? When you delete old accounting data, you delete data that has been posted, I'm fairly sure that if it has not been posted, it won't be deleted as the system figures that anything that has not been posted, is new not old.

I'm back with previous issue. Restored data and the files did not show to be posted. But they still appear under the "modify unposted files." For some reason they appear but can't get to them to delete them. It's like they are gone but, they are not. Baffled

What happens when you try to delete a transaction from the Modify Unposted Transactions screen?
