Income Expense Statement Current Period Reflects 0

Post by FaithLM »

On the Income and Expense Statement for December 2017, the Current Period shows 0 for all
I checked to see if the items have not been posted and
When I go to Post to Paid Items File from Account Payable - it shows "No items to Post"
Under Fund Accounting when I go to Modify Unposted Transactions - all of the December Transactions are there
How do I get those transactions posted to display on the report?

Working month is March 2018
Fund Accounting Setting is 18 Months

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

There are two steps to follow in every module that posts to Accounting:

First you post from the module:

Contributions - Accounts Payable - Accounts Receivable - Payroll --- all post to Funds Accounting, and all those transactions show up in the Unposted Transactions queue in Funds Accounting.

Second .. you post transactions in Funds Accounting.

Now you may ask, why two steps?

There's a very good reason. Different people have different access in the system. The people who enter contributions, or write checks, may not have access to the Funds Accounting module.

Example: your secretary writes checks in Accounts Payable, she can post to Funds Accounting, but only the Treasurer has access to post the transactions to the system, do the bank reconciliations, and create reports.

Other churches use this method to have an authorized person double check the transactions coming from AP, to verify that the correct accounts were used; then correct or post the transaction.

So, the answer in your case .. run the Post Transaction function under Funds Accounting. The system should put those transaction under December if their dated as December.
