moving data to new computer

Post by farmer1111 »

Have to use a different computer. I backed up the accounting files on a thumb drive and when
they were restored there accounting setup was not there. Should I have backed up (all data files) instead?
The program loads up and looks right on the new computer. Just nothing under accounting. It says
is has to be set up.

Yep ... the initial restore should be of all files. I believe that when you select only the accounting files, it doesn't backup some of the Powerchurch setting files.

Once you do that initial restore of all files, you should be able to see accounting.

Just a question though, are you using a computer at the church, or at home? If at the church, and if the church has a network, why don't you just set the other computer up as a client to the main database on the office computer (I'm assuming that's where it is).
