Restarting accounting and beginning balances

Post by athomas »

Read several posting on the subjects but none address the complete issue so help is appreciated. Restarted Accounting and entered beginning balances for asset and liability accounts. What other accounts should beginning balances be entered for? Are restricted accounts included? If so, is the balance for equity the figure used?

I'm assuming you're following the directions as listed in the User Guide, and using the Accounting Setup Assistant. It will walk you through the setup. Make sure you have the information as listed in the User Guide when you're doing this. The program will walk you through the setup and ask you for information.

If you're restarting because of some error you should make sure that the last restricted balances as shown on the last Balance Sheet report are correct, then use them when asked about restricted accounts.
