Membership + Deluxe 2005 vs PCP+

Post by melloby »

Hi,

Has anyone have any experience with Membership + and switched to PCP+? I have someone who is interested in both programs, but I only know the merits of PCP+.

It appears that membership + has some neat features from my web search, but I would appreciate if someone who has used the program to give me an assessment of the system to help my friend.

They seem to have an integrated accounting module in the deluxe 2005 versions similiar to PCP+.

Thx,
melloby

Actually, it looks like they took a hard look at PC+, then decided to add some features they didn't have before.

Alot of the stuff they have added in the five years since I first looked at integrated church software. Of course, they are a much larger software house, so they can start from scratch without a problem.

FWIW ... alot of their 'extras' are in areas that we have been told are being looked at for PC+. The one thing that bothers me is that they do not spell out if they have the same type of site license as PC+ does. One copy of PC+ can be installed on every machine at the church, no additional fees.

Membership + vs. PC+- A warning

Post by SBCTrustee »

Hello everyone,

There are a lot of good products out there. Be careful. We have been using PC+ since Aug 2005, ver. 9. Formerly we were using Membership + & Quickbooks Pro, since 1999.

I certainly have issues with PC+, however, really, it imay be the best product out there, at this time. Membership + has gone from a being a intergraded product with a membership module & an accounting module (MoneyCounts) to a membership module only. I don't know what form it is in now.

I do know that PC+ is very flexible & responsive to our needs. It is designed for church use. This forum is the best in the business.

I cannot say enough good things about PC+. I absolutely love the software. It is easy to understand and use. The software is very flexible and can easily be customized to meet your churches unique needs. I have worked with accounting software that cost millions of dollars to purchase that doesn't work as well as PC+ does.

In my opinion the key in getting the most out of PC+, at least from the accounting perspective, is to make sure that your chart of accounts and accounting funds are set up the way your church wants them to be. The canned chart of accounts that comes with the software is a great start. However, I find that most churches have unique things they want to track and want their income and expense statements to look a certain way. So it's critical that the church spend time up front analyzing their operations and deciding how to set up their accounting funds and chart of accounts before they start using PC+.
