Payroll direct deposit
Have a request from head of staff to see if we can do direct deposit for payroll. Also would like to be able to receive direct deposit from preschool clients. Thanks

These are both issues to address with your bank. If they won't allow the direct transactions the question ends right there. If they do, then you can address the issue of entering the transactions into PC+. I have not done this so I can't answer that part of the question. But I am sure there are some users out there that have.

There is no direct way to pull such transactions into Powerchurch. However, nothing says that you can't manually enter them.
My former church used online billpay (Checkfree, Bank of Americall Billpay, etc) to pay bills, all they did was pay within Powerchurch using a manual check, and the treasurer went online to write the checks.
As far as 'direct deposit' from Preschool parents. It can be done, but as long as you don't have an option with your bank to directly take those EFT payments, the parents can still use their online billpay to pay the preschool, what happens is that their bank will then cut a paper check and mail it to the preschool. So, that check is then deposited normally.
However, if you do have a setup with the bank to take EFT transactions, you can enter the payments manually once you recieve the confirmation of the transaction from the bank. The only problem is that many times the bank only gets the transfer of money from one bank's accounts to the other bank's accounts. They don't always pass on the sender's information (name, address, etc). Now if these parents have a 'envelope number' that is used to show these payments, that could be used to correlate the money.
IMNO, I would suggest not using EFT, in order to have a paper trail of payments. Let the parents use their online billpay, and the preschool get the paper check in the mail.
Just a heads-up, version 10 of PC+ will have additional types of contributions besides cash and check. Credit Card and OnLine contribution types have been added.
