Income/expense statement

Post by sweetestberry »

Hello!
Forgive any mistakes or silly questions. I am new at PowerChurch and using the forum. Thanks in advance!! :D
I am trying to figure this program out on my own with the "manual" and my accounting skills are not that great.
I have posted all of the contributions/transactions to the accounting module. I ran an income/expense report to double check everything before ending the day and I cannot find 2 of my contributions in this particular report. Every other contribution that I entered is on there. I can find the contributions on the fund report, funds by date report and they were on the unposted contributions report. Now, they aren't on the unposted reports or anywhere that I can find.
Can somebody please help me??!!
Thank you so very much!!

Fund Accounting (FA) acts as the hub for all your financial stuff. When you make entries in Contributions (CO), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Payroll (PR), you post in each of those areas to update the appropriate information there (in CO, you're updating your individual giving records; in AP, you're updating vendor activity information). When you post in each of these places, a transaction is sent over to Fund Accounting UNPOSTED, and you have to post again there to finalize your transactions.

In the scenario you described, you've not posted in CO yet. When you do that, you'll send a transaction for the total entered in CO over to FA. You'll then post in FA, and your accounting reports will reflect the amounts you expect.

The idea is, you may have different people entering data in CO, AP, PR or whatever, and maybe your treasurer is the only one you want posting in FA. Or, you may want to add additional information as direct FA transactions. There are lots of reasons why you might want that extra level of control.

I hope that helps, and doesn't just confuse the issue.
